Day-two operations

Managed digital signage, after the install

Most signage projects don't fail on install day. They fail in month eight, when the content is stale, a player in a branch office has been offline for three weeks, and nobody remembers who has the login. Managed service is us owning that part: content on schedule, every device watched, broken hardware replaced.

Why monitoring matters more than people think

Across L'Occitane's 150+ stores, every panel, player and connection reports to CrownTV. A black screen in a flagship at 9am on a Saturday is something we want to see before the store manager does, and with monitoring we usually do. The same loop runs at Janie and Jack: a window panel going dark is something we hear about from the network first.

Without monitoring, the first report of a dead screen is usually a customer, or nobody at all.

Common questions

Managed service questions

What is managed digital signage?

Someone else runs your screens after install. CrownTV schedules your content, monitors every player and display, fixes most problems remotely, replaces failed players within 48 hours and sends a crew when hands are needed. You keep your logins and can still change things yourself.

How much does managed digital signage cost?

Year one is included in our turnkey per-screen price, which starts at $2,950. After that, managed service is scoped around screen count, how often content changes and the support level you need. Software alone is $20 per screen per month.

What's monitored?

Every CrownTV player and every display, 24/7. Automated alerts fire when a device drops offline or a display reports a fault, and you get a monthly uptime report per location.

What happens when hardware fails?

A failed CrownTV media player ships within 48 hours at no charge during the contract. Display failures go through Samsung's 3-year commercial warranty, and we handle the RMA. Spare players are pre-staged for multi-location accounts.

How does digital signage troubleshooting work?

Digital signage troubleshooting starts with monitoring: every player and display reports its status, an alert fires the moment one drops offline, and most problems are fixed remotely before anyone has to visit the site or a customer notices the dark screen. If hardware has failed, a CrownTV media player ships within 48 hours at no charge during the contract, display failures go through Samsung's 3-year warranty, and a crew is sent when hands are needed.

When is managed not worth it?

For one or two screens with content that changes a few times a year. Keep the software, make the changes yourself, and save the fee.
